is located in the city of Dar es Salaam
on the Indian Ocean Coast
of eastern Tanzania
Set on the Msasini Peninsular to the north of town, this mid-size hotel is sited in a modest waterfront leisure area known as The Slipway, which contains a handful of restaurants and cafes, a couple of dozen shops including a handy supermarket and plenty of curio vendors, plus a jetty offering boat rides out to various islands.
The hotel itself is modest and efficient, with around 30 rooms on two floors above a simple reception and breakfast room.
Hotel Slipway is a relatively convenient and cost effective place to stay. It happens to be under the same ownership as Coastal Airways, the main domestic carrier, so transfers to and from the airport tend to be well coordinated.
It is also one of the few places in Dar where you are not obliged to sleep with air-con, since the rooms are equipped with fans and the windows are netted.Prices
