Hoyo Hoyo Lodge
is located in the Kruger Central
area of Kruger National Park
in the Northeast
region of South Africa
Set on a 100 square kilometre private concession within the reserve, this camp sits on a bend on a seasonal stream. It takes its design from traditional Tsonga architecture, with public areas contained within a twin rondavel structure, leading out to a deck with a nice pool. Guest accommodation is in six large circular structures of similar style.
Activities are centred on vehicle safaris within the private concession and further afield into the public areas of the reserve. Spa treatments are also available.
Hoyo Hoyo Lodge appears to have a lot going for it ... a nicely designed camp in a large private area. But in reality it falls way short on delivery. Our experience of the vehicle safari here has been shocking, spending more time out on the public roads than in the concession and even stopping in at Satara Restcamp for a drinks break. At this price there are quite a few better private concession options.
