is located in the Sabi Sand Reserve
in the Kruger
area to the Northeast
of South Africa
Situated amongst a small stand of forest to the southeast of the reserve, Idube Camp is a relatively simple lodge with a separate bar and outside dining boma, leading out to a decent swimming pool. Guest accommodation is in ten brick-built chalets and two more modern suites with private pools. The hosting is personable and the prices relatively keen for this area.
Activities are centred on vehicle safari and walking safari, with wildlife in this Sabi Sand West area being excellent year round. The camp has a reputation for excellent guiding.
The main potential downsides are that this is a relatively low specification lodge has heavily constructed central areas. There is the potential for adverse weather conditions Nov/Mar. Also, as with almost all the lodges in this area, different groups of guests are joined together on safari activities, unless you pre-book a private vehicle at significant additional cost.
The presence in this Sabi Sand West area of fence lines, overhead telephone cables and road signs, as well as heavy urbanisation immediately to the west, does detract significantly from the sense of wilderness, but that is true of almost all of Kruger.SeasonsPrices
