Iringa and Mufindi
is an area in the Southern Region of Tanzania.

Iringa is a small town located on the TanZam highway around 450km inland from Dar es Salaam and 400km from the border with Zambia, at the junction to Ruaha National Park. It is an attractive place, set on raised ground above the verdant valley of the Little Ruaha river and backed by the cracked domes of bare granite hills. The town has an unusually cosmopolitan atmosphere and the central market is particularly vibrant. Since the majority of visitors to Ruaha visit by air, the volume of overland safaris passing through Iringa is relatively low.

The Mufindi Highlands is a scenic upland area which lies 100km south-east of Iringa and is renowned for its extensive tea plantations. Mufindi Highland Lodge is the best known accommodation in the area, a cosy family-run retreat from which guests can tour the tea estates, visit local villages, go walking, cycling, horse-riding, fly-fishing and golf.
