Kafue
is a huge and historically under-utilised national park in western Zambia, which is only now properly opening up to visitors.

Although largely flat and dry, the park has a interesting range ecosystems including rivers, forests and plains, with increasingly impressive animal populations.

The park has a particularly good reputation for walking safari and night vehicle safari, although you do have to choose your camps carefully if you are particularly interesting in these specialist activities.

The main potential downsides are that the park is very flat and therefore a little short on magnificent scenery, the Jun/Oct safari season is very short and prices are inherently quite high.
