, also known as Il Pinguan House
, is located in the Laikipia North
area of north-central Kenya
Laikipia North is an elevated plateau of arid range-lands which are renowned for their healthy climate. The area is home to a broad range of wildlife, including some of less familiar species which are characteristic of the area, notably including imperial zebras, gerenuks, reticulated giraffes and Somali ostriches. Visitor densities are very low.
Situated on a working cattle ranch on flat lands to the west of the main river valley, Kamogi is the home of the Day family and comprises the original ranch manager's house, converted for modern usage and available for rent for private groups of up to 10 guests. It comes with a full complement of staff.
Activities include vehicle safari, walking safari, camel safari, horse-back safari, swimming, tennis and bivouac camping.
The main potential downsides are the fact that the greater area is largely reclaimed farmland and the wildlife densities are relatively low.PricesTrips
