Karukareb Wilderness Reserve Lodge
is located in the Cederberg
area of the Western Cape
in South Africa
Set in the pleasantly remote Boskloof Valley some 13km southeast of Clanwilliam, this rather nice lodge offers accommodation in 4 conventional rooms and 5 simpler safari tents. Public areas are contained within a central thatched building overlooking a decent pool.
As well as hiking and mountain-biking, the lodge offers guided horse-riding and visits to rock-art sites. The town of Clanwilliam itself is also worth a visit.
Karukareb Lodge is an extremely good option for people wanting to experience this lovely wilderness are without having to self-cater.
Unfortunately the lodge was seriously damaged in a fire in 2018 and is presently closed. We are unaware of any plans for it to re-open.
