Kaya Mawa Lodge
is situated on the southwestern tip of Likoma Island in the Lake Malawi area of Malawi.

Set on rocks above a beautiful beach, this lodge is constructed in stone and thatch, with stylish public areas and ten very comfortable and romantic rooms. Activities include freshwater diving, snorkelling and sailing. Best of all we find is the interaction that guests are able to have with this wonderful island community, who derive considerable benefits from the presence of the lodge. Exploring the island by bike and on foot is a real pleasure.

The main potential downsides is that the lodge is relatively expensive, especially the access which is by shared charter flight from Lilongwe. By comparison with the beach lodges of the Indian Ocean, the main disadvantage is the lack of diving.
