Kazile Island Lodge
is located in the Mudumu and Mamili
area in the Caprivi Strip
region of Namibia
Mudumu and Mamili are two relatively small wildlife reserves located in the heel of the Caprivi Strip, the best safari areas in the country, with good range of wet and dry safari activities.
Set in a pretty waterfront position inside Bwabwata National Park on the western side of the river, some 6km south of the main B8 highway, Kazile Island Lodge is relatively simple and well priced facility.
The camp is centred an elevated main building with lounge and dining areas, leading out to a nice camp-fire area with views over the surrounding floodplains.
Guest accommodation is in ten tented suites, also on elevated platforms.
Activities include vehicle safari, walking safari, motorboat safari, night vehicle safari and village visits.
The main potential downsides at Kazile Island Lodge are that there are aspects of the lodge design which are less attractive, there are self-drivers in the area, the main road is quite close, the lower wildlife numbers during the Nov/May green season and very high temperatures during Oct/Dec.
