Kilimanjaro Lemosho 6B
is a six night non-technical private trek along the Lemosho Trail
, which starts its ascent from the western side of Mount Kilimanjaro
in the northeast region of Tanzania
This six night Lemosho variant overcomes the traffic issues of the standard Lemosho 6A
trek by using the much lesser-used Lava Tower Bivouac instead of the busy Barranco Valley Bivouac on the third night, which enables trekkers to avoid the traffic on the shared trail for an extra two days by being several hours behind the main group.
Night 1 : Lemosho Forest
Night 2 : Shira One
Night 3 : Lava Tower
Night 4 : Karanga Valley
Night 5 : Barafu
Night 6 : Millennium
The problem is that Lava Tower is really far too high for a third night and altitude sickness is likely to be a serious problem, which is the main reason that summit success is only around 76%.
Kilimanjaro Lemosho 6B is not a trek that we generally recommend, although we are able to offer it for private groups who are keen on this particular format.
We tend to most often refer to it when guests ask specifically for a competitive quotation, but once we have gone through the various pros and cons, we usually move on to a better alternative. It tends to take a very unusual set of circumstances for this to be the ideal trek.Trek basicsWho can trekDegree of difficultyAltitude sicknessRoute selectionTrip planningTrek specificationsPrice and availabilityPreparation before departurePre-trek briefingPost-trek feedbackMountain factfile
