Kilimanjaro Lemosho 7Ag
is a non-technical seven night
group trek along the Lemosho Trail, which starts its ascent from the western side of Mount Kilimanjaro
in the northeast region of Tanzania
This is the classic seven night Lemosho trek, with two scenic days ascending up through the forests, the crossing of the moorland of the Shira Plateau and then traversing below the Southern Icefields to summit from Barafu, before descending down the Mweka Trail.
Night 1 : Lemosho Forest
Night 2 : Shira One
Night 3 : Shira Two
Night 4 : Barranco Valley
Night 5 : Karanga Valley
Night 6 : Barafu
Night 7 : Millennium
Altitude acclimatisation is pretty good and summit success rates are very high, at around 91%.
We operate group treks for up to 15 guests, supported by a crew of around 45 staff. These treks depart for the mountain usually every other Wednesday during the main seasons.
We tend to recommend it most to trekkers who are very confident about their fitness and ability to cope with the rigours of camping out on the mountain. If you are less confident then you might like to look at one of the shorter routes below.
The main potential downside is the potential for traffic, the route being shared for the last four nights with the busy Machame Trail. We try to get around that by starting out mid-week in order to avoid the weekend traffic peaks.
It should also be pointed out that the altitude acclimatisation is not as strong as the Shira 7Bg
