Kirawira Serena Camp
is located in the Western Sector
of the Serengeti
in Northern Tanzania
It is a reasonably high specification permanent tented lodge is set in the important Western Corridor area and is open start May to end Apr. The migration usually passes through during Nov and May/Jun, making this very much the place to be, whilst it becomes a relatively quiet backwater during the Aug/Oct late dry season. It is pleasantly small for a lodge, with 25 guest rooms and is perhaps best suited to slightly less outdoorsy guests. There is also a swimming pool.
The main potential downsides at Kirawira Serena Camp are that it is relatively highly priced for a lodge of this level. Activities are effectively limited to daytime vehicle safari only and guests are often asked to share vehicles whilst out on safari. The camp is open to vehicles from other safari companies, which can reduce the sense of intimacy. There is also the potential for high visitor traffic during the main migration season, with a limited road network and no off-road driving permitted in much of this area.UpsidesDownsidesSeasonsPricesTrips
