is located in the Kafue
area of northern Zambia
Set on the western shore of the enormous lake formed by the Itechi-Techi Dam in the southern sector of the reserve, this camp is certainly not the prettiest we have ever seen ... with an almost bizarrely simple dining area, an oddly quirky lounge and some reasonably interesting but simple thatched rooms.
The focus here is very much on the safari and we have experienced some superb guiding. Activities are centred on day and night vehicle safaris, motorboat and walking safaris.
The camps in this southern sector of Kafue have historically always been the poor relations and continue to suffer from difficult access and lower concentrations of game largely brought about by poaching.
Konkamoya Lodge and its neighbours are working on these issues, but until they are resolved the area will remain peripheral for the majority of international visitors.
