Kosi Forest Lodge
is located in the Elephant Coast
area of Natal Northeast
in South Africa
Set in sand forest alongside a lake 7km inland from the ocean at Kosi Bay, this shaggy bush-chic lodge has open-sided public areas containing the main lounge and dining areas, leading out to pleasant shady decks. A pleasant swimming pool is situated out by the lake. Guest accommodation is in eight cabins amongst the dense forest, each with indoor and outdoor bathrooms.
Activities are centred on excellent guided forest hikes and canoe expeditions around the lakes and expeditions to the coastline for snorkelling, turtle-tracking and beach picnics.
The main potential downsides at Kosi Forest Lodge are that it is distant from the ocean and quite close to human habitation. There is the potential for adverse weather conditions Dec/Apr. Also, as with almost all the lodges in this area, different groups of guests are joined together on the various activities. The lodge can be quite difficult to build into trips, access from Cape Town and Kruger can be arduous and expensive.SeasonsPrices
