Kruger Park Central
is a sector of Kruger National Park in the Northeast region of South Africa.

The general rule here in Kruger is that the further north you go the lower density of both wildlife and visitors. This central section therefore represents something of a compromise, with reasonably reliable wildlife viewing and the possibility to escape the crowds in certain areas.

This area contains two two ultra-exclusive lodges, amongst the finest in South Africa. They are far removed from the main traffic within the reserve, in a private concession far off to the east, along the border with Mozambique and are accessed by air, usually in combination with sister lodges in the similarly exclusive Sabi Sand Reserve area further to the west.

Singita Sweni Lodge ... is the smaller of the two, with just six sumptuous guests suites.

Singita Lebombo Lodge ... has fifteen guests suites, but is otherwise just as exclusive.

Given the very high prices of these lodges, we tend to more often include this area in self-drive trips which transit through the park in between stays in the higher quality private reserves around Timbavati and Sabi Sand South. The best way to do this connection is to spend one or two nights at one of these camps, which enables you to get away from the main drag on a largely dirt road route through a large private concession ...

Hamiltons Tented Camp ... is a reasonably nice tented camp, comfortable and with a kind of retro theme going on.

Hoyo Hoyo Lodge ... is to a similar standard, but features some interesting indigenous architecture in its design.

Imbali Safari Lodge ... is a much more heavily built lodge, providing a higher level of conventional comforts aimed at slightly less outdoorsy guests.

For visitors who want to self-drive towards the very attractive safari areas of the extreme North, we are obliged to include a night at one of the park authority facilities in this area ...

Olifants Restcamp ... is a vast facility, more of a holiday camp than a safari lodge, but in a nice riverside setting.

Letaba Restcamp ... is a similar facility, also in a decent riverside setting.
