Lake Manze Camp
is located in the Selous Game Reserve
in Southern Tanzania
It is a mid-range permanent tented option in a prime central position in Selous, an extremely large and important game reserve with an unusual languid atmosphere. It is a simple but reasonably comfortable camp with twelve guest tents and it is relatively low cost. A particular highlight is the amount of wildlife which tends to come through the camp, notably elephants.
Activities include vehicle safari, motorboat safari, walking safari and bush meals. Wildlife viewing is particularly strong during the Jun/Nov dry season, whilst the reserve remains a beautiful place to visit during the converse Dec/Mar green season.
The main potential downsides at Lake Manze Camp are that it is relatively simple and outdoorsy, notably the limited electricity. It also tends to attract a budget conscious audience. Guests are often asked to share safari vehicles, there can be significant vehicle clustering on sightings in this core area and the safari guiding can be quite average.UpsidesActivitiesDownsidesSeasonsPricesTrips
