Lazare Picault Hotel

...

... is located in the southwest corner of Mahe Island in the Seychelles.

Mahe is the largest and most heavily populated island in the group, the location for the international airport and the capital Victoria. The island has a spine of forested granite mountains which run down to broad palm-lined beaches. It is a very beautiful place, but rather less laid back than either Praslin Island or La Digue Island and naturally nowhere near as pristine and unspoiled as the smaller uninhabited islands.

This southwest corner of the island is the most remote and beautiful part of the island by some distance, far removed from the busy settlements of the east coast and with some lovely sandy coves backed by forested mountains.

Situated at the south end of the Baie Lazare, this is the furthest lodge south on the main coast road and feels pleasantly remote.

There are 14 detached bungalows set in lush tropical gardens. There is also a bar and Creole restaurant.

On the whole Lazare Picault does fall rather short of being chic, but does offer reasonably reliable service and decent value for money.
