Leopard Rock Lodge
is located in the Meru area of east-central Kenya.

+ important national reserve
+ superb landscapes
+ unusual animal sightings
+ low visitor numbers
+ unusual lodge design
+ large swimming pool
+ rooms with river views
+ massage
+ camel treks

Situated on the river in the northern sector of the reserve, this large and heavily built lodge has expansive public areas over two storeys, around 30 stone and thatch guest rooms and a theme-park style swimming pool.

Activities are centred on vehicle safari inside the reserve, as well as camel treks in the immediate vicinity.

- lower wildlife densities
- poaching pressure
- no off road driving
- relatively large lodge
- absent owners

Leopard Rock Lodge is something of a white elephant. It is apparently under French ownership, but appears to be barely operational, certainly there were no guests here when we last visited.

Although there are upsides to this place, overall it is not somewhere that we feel able to recommend to our guests very often. We tend to more often use the much higher rated Elsa's Kopje or Offbeat Meru Camp in this area. If you specifically want to include this lodge in your trip then please discuss it with one of our expert safari planners.
