Lewa Safari Camp
is located on the Lewa Downs area in the Central Region of Kenya.

The Lewa Downs Conservancy is a large private reserve which is an important and pioneering conservation project. The area contains some very pretty landscapes and a full range of wildlife.

Lewa Safari Camp is the entry level camp in this area, with comfortable public areas and guest accommodation in a total of twelve pleasant tented rooms under thatch.

Activities include vehicle safari by vehicle, walking safari, horse-back safari, camel safari and cultural interaction.

The main potential downsides are that being a fenced lodge on a fenced reserve can make the experience feel rather tame and over-managed. The lodge itself is relatively pricey and is a rather confused mix of a colonial homestead in a manicured garden, with rooms more suited to a traditional safari camp.
