Lilayi Lodge
is located in the city of Lusaka in southcentral Zambia.

Situated on the outskirts of the city, some 15km south of the centre, this lodge is about 45 minutes drive from the international airport.

The lodge is centred on a large lounge and restaurant area, alongside a very large swimming pool. Guest accommodation is in ten large and comfortable thatched rondavels, each with satellite television, WiFi and minibar.

Activities include modest vehicle safari and walking safari on the game ranch, plus visits to the associated elephant nursery.

It is worth noting that the elephant nursery can only be visited during the middle of the day and then only from a viewing platform.

Lilayi Lodge is a very comfortable and well delivered place, whose restaurant is very popular with locals. For accommodation it can serve well as an alternative to the city centre hotels for guests needing to overnight in order to connect to international flights.

It is possible to book a two night accommodation package which also includes a walk with the elephants and behind the scenes tour of the elephant orphanage, but this does more than triple the price.

Lusaka generally only features in trips in order to facilitate flight connections in and out of the international airport, so stay durations are generally limited to one night.

Lusaka is most commonly combined in trips with the most popular safari areas in the country, notably South Luangwa, Lower Zambezi and Kafue, along with time at the Victoria Falls in Livingstone, in trips of 7 to 14 nights.

These areas are also often commonly combined combined with parts of neighbouring Malawi, Zimbabwe and Botswana in particular.
