Linyanti Walking Safaris
also known as Footsteps Across The Linyanti
, is located in the Chobe Enclave
area of Linyanti
in northern Botswana
This particular offering is a three night walking safari using a light mobile camp which is relocated once or twice along the way. The amount and pace of the walking is tailored to suit the group and what wildlife you encounter along the way. The general pattern is 3-4 hours morning and afternoon, with a leisurely lunch and siesta along the way. This is proper safari walking, during which interaction with potentially dangerous wildlife including elephants and buffaloes is anticipated.
The camp itself has a simple canvas mess tent and camp-fire. Guest accommodation is in six relatively small but comfortable with private bathrooms and bucket showers.
The main downsides are the simplicity of the camp and the fact 12 guests is rather a high number for a walking safari experience of this nature.
Although we have not actually done this trail ourselves, we have been out on shorter walks with the guides who lead it, who are proper safari people. The right kind of guest will appreciate the additional explosure to the bush that an experience like this inevitably provides.
The minimum age for this trail is 16 years of age.SeasonsPricesTrips
