Little Chem Chem
is located in the Tarangire
area of Northern Tanzania
Overlooking Lake Burunge, in an 160 square kilometre private concession on the western border of Tarangire National Park, Little Chem Chem is an upmarket camp which provides an unusual peaceful and authentic safari experience.
The camp is centred on a pleasant tented mess, with lounge and dining areas leading out to a campfire, with views out across the lake.
Guest accommodation is in just five comfortable tents with indoor bathrooms and conventional plumbing.
Activities include vehicle safari both on the concession and the adjacent national park, plus walking safari and night vehicle safari in the areas around camp.
This concession are forms part of a critical buffer zone, protecting the migration routes between Tarangire and Lake Manyara. The owners are primarily driven by the conservation side of things and have put the camp here for that reason.
The main potential downsides are the very high prices, the proximity of human populations to the west and the fact that repeated visits to the national park can become a little tedious from this location should you wish to do that.
