is located in the Lake Magadi and Loita Hills
area of Southwest Kenya
Situated amongst mature forest alongside a small stream, this relatively simple camp has thatched central areas and several large stone and thatch guest rooms.
Activities include vehicle safari, walking safari, cultural interaction and visits to Lake Magadi itself.
Loisiijo Camp is apparently a very well-intentioned partnership between a charity and the local people. And indeed the staff are lovely.
But unfortunately there are too many niggles that drag the rating down. The lodge is a little too basic for most tastes and there are maintenance issues. The situation alongside the river is pretty and especially good for monkeys, but otherwise not ideal. Much of the surrounding land has been heavily overgrazed.
Perhaps best suited to budget groups and expats on cheap weekends out of Nairobi
