is located in the Kruger Private Reserves
area of the Kruger National Park
in the Northeast
of South Africa
Situated in the far west of the greater Kruger area, between the towns of Hoedspruit and Tzaneen, this fenced reserve comprises approximately 220 square kilometres of gently undulating Lowveld acacia scrub, set against the distant backdrop of the Mpumulanga Drakensberg escarpment and centred on the seasonal Makhutswi River.
It contains a full range of animals and wildlife viewing is good year round, since being a fenced reserve, the animals are not free to migrate.Garonga Safari Camp
... is the best camp in the area, a really nice lodge which is extremely highly rated despite the potential shortcomings of the reserve.Little Garonga
... is an equally pleasant annexe of the above.
Further west are four small camps under separate ownership, but which are not so highly rated because they are both more expensive and more commercial ... Emtomeni Camp
, Mkhiwa Camp
, Phiva Camp
and Tandane Camp
