... is located in the Panorama South area of the Northeast region in South Africa.

This area is named after a town just to the south of Kruger National Park, on the main N4 highway from Johannesburg east to Mozambique.

The area is dominated by the Crocodile River, which marks the southern boundary of the reserve. Much of the southern side of the river is lined by intense agriculture.

There is a wide range of lodges along this side of the river, offering the possibility of day-trips into the park. We don't recommend any of these lodges as a base for safari, but we do occasionally include some of them, as stopovers in trips which self-drive south from Kruger, through Swaziland and on to Natal.

Buhala Lodge ... is probably the highest quality option in the area. It is close to Leopard Creek Country Club, with its championship golf course and guests staying here are able to access the club.
