Mana Canoe Trail
is travels through Mana Pools
in northern Zimbabwe
This sensational three night trail travels the full length of the national park waterfront on the Zambezi River, around 50km downstream from Ruckomechi in the west to Chikwenya in the east. The journey is undertaken by canoe, with additional walking safaris on each day.
Accommodation is in a simple dome-tented bivouac, which is moved each night by a separate vehicle-based support crew.
Guests can expect to see a good deal of wildlife, especially hippos, elephants and crocodiles along the river, as well as a good variety of plains game along the banks and when walking further inland.
The trail is designed for up to eight guests, which can be made up of smaller groups, couples and individuals who have booked separately, but who will travel together on the trail. We can arrange trips for larger groups on request. No previous canoeing experience is necessary but guests should be reasonably fit and healthy.
The minimum child age is 14 years. There is no maximum luggage weight, as luggage will be transferred by vehicle from camp to camp. Vegetarian or other dietary preferences can be catered to providing we are advised at the time of booking.
It is essential that all guests are aware that the activities included in this trail are potentially very dangerous. You will be accompanied throughout by a professional safari guide and it is essential that you obey his commands at all times. Even so, the risks remain and the operators cannot accept any responsibility for events beyond their control.ItineraryPacking listSeasonsPricesTrips
