Mara Ngenche Camp
is located in the Mara Confluence
sector of the Maasai Mara
in Southwest Kenya
Set on the confluence of the Mara and Talek rivers, this camp is accessed by a long and slightly tiresome track, which does provide a real sense of secrecy.
On the one occasion we visited, the camp had already closed for the season, hence the poor imagery. But it was clear that there was a large and pleasant main mess, with several large and comfortable rooms set high above the river. A short stroll south provides a view across the confluence itself, an excellent location for hippos and crocodiles.
Being inside the reserve means that activities are restricted to daytime vehicle safari only.
Mara Ngenche Camp appears to represent a decent and slightly lower cost option to the nearby Rekero Camp
, Nkorombo Camp
, Naibor Camp
The only significant downside is that this is a relatively high traffic area in high season.
