Maseru South

...

... is a region of Lesotho in South Africa.

South of the capital North of the country of Maseru lie what are known as the Lesotho Lowlands, although in most countries land at this elevation would probably be considered as uplands.

The relatively heavily farmed and populated areas to the west, although pretty enough in parts, are generally little visited. It is the mountains to the east which hold more allure and in their foothills are contained the two main lodge options.

In a very scenic area to the south lies the well known Malealea Lodge, the country's best known base for pony treks.

Further north is the small 1833 mission town of Morija, set in a pretty valley, has a cluster of historic buildings. Here the Morija Guest Houses offers decent quality accommodation.
