... is located in the north of Zimbabwe.

This region, the traditional home of the Shona tribe, covers the northern third of the country and includes the capital Harare and the major safari areas of Mana Pools and Matusadona, although those three areas are all covered under separate sections.

This section sweeps up all the other intermediate parts of Mashonaland, although there is little to interest the majority of travellers.

The primary location is the Mzarabani Wilderness Area, which lies directly north of Harare and covers a scenic upland area above the broad Zambezi Basin.

Bat Caves Camp ... is a rustic camp which can only be accessed by horse as part of a riding safari.

Kopje Tops Camp ... is a simple facility in the Tingwa Valley with no electricity.

To the northwest of Harare lies the town of Chinhoyi, where there are some modestly interesting limestone caves, renowed for its cobalt blue lakes. Specialst cave diving expeditions are able to reach depths in excess of 100 metres.

Chinhoyi Caves Motel ... is a basic roadside facility just outside the Chinhoyi Caves National Park.
