is a pleasant and relatively laid-back town located in the north of Botswana
and serving as the main hub for safari in this part of the country.
The town is full of safari people and still retains a kind of frontier atmosphere, a feeling which is perpetuated by the throng of young pilots who famously come here to boost their commercial flying hours whilst having a little bit of fun out on safari during the day and in the bars at night.
The town only contains modest sights of interest. It is perhaps best know for its unique style of architecture, where drinks tins are used as building blocks for mud-rendered huts, although there's not many good example around these days, the fad seems to have passed.
The main appeal of the place is perhaps the relatively wide range of low cost accommodation, which services the budget overland traffic on the busy safari route north to Kasane.AccommodationTrips
