is located in the Odzala Kokoua
area to the north of Congo Brazzaville
Odzala Kokoua is a very remote and substantial national park to the north of the country, a prime location for forest wildlife including lowland gorillas, elephants and leopards. A remarkable and very important conservation project.
Set in a position which provides access to some very attractive savanna and riverine ecosystems, Mboko Camp is a comfortable and stylish camp, well presented and serviced.
The camp is centred on a main building under thatch, with very comfortable lounge and dining areas, leading out to a large open deck and camp-fire overlooking an open riverine plain, known locally as a "bai".
Guest accommodation is in six canvas and timber rooms, accessed by a network of raised pathways and each with private bathrooms and verandahs.
Activities are centred on walking safari, canoe safari and motorboat safari notably along the Lekoli and Mambili rivers. It may even be possible to go mountain biking.
The main potential downsides at Mboko Camp are the very high prices, the difficulty of access, it can only be visited as part of a group safari, the wildlife can be rather elusive and biting flies can be a significant nuisance.
