is a very substantial country located in southeast Africa, with an enormous 2200km frontage onto the Indian Ocean.
The country was one of few in Africa to be colonised by the Portuguese and has suffered enormously from internal strife since independence. Although there have been no major conflicts in the country for many years, the lost decades have left Mozambique a long way behind in terms of travel infrastructure.
This place remains very much a frontier country, certainly in terms of tourism. There are vast wildernesses which remain virtually untouched, both inland and along the coast. We can certainly understand the urgent desire that some people have to visit the country, it is certainly a somewhere we find rather alluring, even if extensive travel here can be expensive, difficult and unreliable.RegionsTripsVisasHealthMoneySecurityElectricityBooks
