These treks typically begin from the Likhubula side of the mountain at Chambe/ Chisepo Huts and descend via the Minunu paths into Lujeri Tea Estate. The route is usually finalised on the morning of the climb after guides have assessed local weather conditions.
All hikes are organised on a private basis tailored to the guests requirements which all include a local guide and porter.
Day one of the trek ascending to the plateau is very steep and quite demanding navigating through mountainous forest and along the mountain plains.
Hikes to Sapitwa summit requires very good weather and is very seasonabley dependant and will involve an extra nights stay at Chisepo, located at the base of the summit.
The best time to visit is usually in the dry season between mid-April and August, which coincides with the dry season in the rest of the country. Conditions on the mountain between November to early April can be very wet an unpredictable. SeasonsPrices
