, previously known as Ntemwa Camp
, is located in the Kafue
area of northern Zambia
Set on the southeastern side of the Busanga Plains in the northern sector of the reserve, many years ago this place used to be one of the very best, but during the wet season of 1983 the area was completely poached out with the help of Angolan rebels in helicopters.
Since 2000 the poaching situation has been brought under control and the camp was reopened for a number of years, as a simple tented camps with six modest guest tents.
We have always tended to lean more towards this camp during the early part of the season, June and July, when the flooding out on the main Busanga Plains can seriously impede game-viewing. Often we would combine camps in both areas.
But the Kafue struggles to attract enough visitors and in 2012 Musanza Bushcamp was once again closed.
