Situated on a back road around 15km north of the international airport, this lodge provides the main accommodation on a large wildlife sanctuary which claims to promote animal conservation and Bushman welfare.
The lodge itself is a rather cold modern affair, with a circular central area with wrap-around glazing looking out over a small pool. The six guest rooms are rather church-like from the outside and fitted out with all modern conveniences.
The place offers a bewildering array of things to do, including a heavily promoted volunteer program.
We had high hopes of Na'ankuse before we visited, but we were given such short shrift that we were not even able to take photos of the lodge interior, never mind get to grips with what the place is really about. We certainly didn't find ourselves filled with any kind of warm feeling.
