Namtib Desert Lodge
is located in the Helmeringhausen
area in the Southern
region of Namibia
Luxuriating in a wonderful location deep within the Tiras Mountains, 7km off the very scenic D707, this lovely little place is an unusually comfortable blend of farmhouse and lodge.
The whole place is, on the face of it, rather simple ... the restaurant and bar are contained within a single open-sided structure with bench seats outside, whilst the rooms are lined up in billet-block fashion. But everything here is delivered with a sense of humour and touches of quality, which comes as no surprise when you come to meet the fresh young owners, Thorsten and Linn Theile.
Activities include extensive walks in the hills and out into the dunes, as well as nature drives.
Namtib Desert Lodge is a really cool little place and a really viable lower cost alternative to somewhere like Wolwedans Dune Camp
to the north. A stay of 2 nights would be good, but keen walkers and naturalists could easily spend longer.
