Ndutu Safari Lodge
is located in the Southwest Sector
of the Serengeti
in Northern Tanzania
It is an historic medium specification permanent tented option set in the important Ndutu area and is open year round, with the main migration often being in the area Nov/Apr. The lodge offers a relatively high level of conventional comforts, especially compared with the mobile tented camps which are so numerous in this area during the migration season. It is also the only non-tented facility in the area and is relatively low cost. Activities are centred on daytime vehicle safari, with off-road driving permitted. Some limited walking safari may also be possible.
The main potential downsides at Ndutu Safari Lodge are that it is relatively large, with around thirty guest rooms. The lodge is open to vehicles from other safari companies, which can reduce the sense of intimacy. There is also the potential for very high visitor traffic and adverse weather conditions during the main migration season.UpsidesDownsidesSeasonsPricesTrips
