Norotshama River Lodge
also known as Norotshama River Resort
is located in the Fish River Canyon
area in the Southern
region of Namibia
The settlement of Aussenkehr is set on the Orange river around 40km northeast of the B1 and the border crossing from South Africa. It is an area of intense wine production, whose population swells to more than 20,000 during harvest time.
The lodge here is rather large and commercial, with more of a resort type of atmosphere. The huge public areas include a reasonably high quality restaurant, whilst the 32 guest units come in a range of different shapes and sizes, from nice waterfront chalets to larger self-catering units.
Activities include walking, canoeing, sundowner drives, rock climbing, abseiling and tours of the village.
Norotshama River Lodge is clearly aimed at the South African market, but tends to be of marginal interest for other nationalities self-driving around Namibia.
