Okahirongo Elephant Lodge
is located in the Skeleton Coast North
area in the Northwest
region of Namibia
This lodge is an unusually comfortable and stylish lodge in a relatively remote location in the unusually green Purros Valley, an epicentre for desert wildlife. It has lovely spacious public areas and a gorgeous swimming pool. Access is by road or by air. A wide range of activities include vehicle safari, walking safari and visits to local Himba villages.
The main potential downside is that the lodge falls between two stools, not being remote or special enough to service high-end fly-in guests, but being too luxurious and pricey to appeal to the kind of self-drive traffic that the area attracts. The location is significantly compromised by the proximity of human settlement, wildlife can be rather elusive and the levels of service at the lodge can be quite variable.UpsidesDownsidesSeasonsPricesTrips
