Okavango offers probably the most pristine, the highest quality and the highest priced safari in Africa.

Originating in the distant highlands of Angola, the Okavango floodwater actually arrives into the delta during the dry season, May/Oct, causing prodigious quantities of game to migrate inwards from the otherwise parched Kalahari desert. At this time there is no better gameviewing in Africa. Even during the converse season the quality remains well above that of most other areas.

Almost all of Okavango is divided into vast private concessions, where visitor numbers are strictly limited and the camps can generally only be accessed by light aircraft.

Safari in the Okavango Delta is extremely seasonal and apparently similar camps can vary enormously in their tone and delivery. There is quite an art to finding the right blend of camps to suit both the time of year and the type of guest.
