is located in northern Botswana
It is an absolute miracle, a beautiful, incongruous, pristine wetland area in the heart of the Kalahari Desert, fed by a substantial river which flows from the distant mountains of Angola to spill out across the desert sands.
During the May/Oct dry season enormous numbers of animals migrate in from the vast parched hinterlands to converge on these magical wetlands, creating an awesome environment for safari.
The area contains an amazing array of wonderful safari camps offering a superb range of wet and dry safari activities.
The main potential downsides are the extremely high prices, the lack of availability in high seasons and the potential for the safari guiding to be a bit limp in some camps, with walking safaris and night vehicle safaris being particularly weak in most locations.UpsidesDownsidesSeasonsAreasTrips
