Okavango Gunns Concession
, also known as NG27
, is a private safari area located to the northwest of the Okavango Delta
in northern Botswana
This concession was amongst the first to be created in the Okavango and was very much the prototype through which much was learned. It covers around 125 square kilometres and is restricted to a relatively high 120 guests in five camps, shared between three different safari companies which operate in separate sub-sectors.
The camps here tend to be relatively lower cost and unusually child-friendly.
The main speciality here is motorboat safari and mokoro canoe safari, with some lodges offering overnight bivouac camping on remote islands out in the delta.
The main drawback here is that the camps are not permitted to operated any vehicle safari, so activities are limited to water-based safari only, meaning that interaction with large mammals is usually quite limited.SeasonsAccommodationTrips
