Okavango Kwara Concession
, also known as NG20
, is a private safari area located to the north of the Okavango Delta
in northern Botswana
This superb quality private safari area extends an enormous 2000 square kilometres and is restricted to just 26 guests in two small camps, a humongous 76 square kilometres per person.
Kwara is one of the very best areas of the Okavango Delta
, with an unusually broad range of ecosystems including deep-water channels, papyrus swamps, seasonal floodplains, permanent open grasslands, hardwood forests and dry mopane woodland.
This variety of landscape leads to a wide array of species, reliable year-round game-viewing and a broad range of safari activities.
The area is renowned for the very serious and dedicated approach that the concession holders have towards their safari guiding, with a driver-guide and spotter on each vehicle, flexibility on hours and serious night vehicle safari.
Because of this, the area has a deserved reputation for predator action, notably lions and cheetahs, but also leopards and wild-dogs. So much so that some guests actually complain that the safari here is too focussed on predators, which is very unusual.
The fact that the camps are rather simpler than elsewhere in the delta and the service style is more relaxed can be taken as a positive or a negative, depending on your own particular point of view.
We have had some of our best safari experiences on this concession and Kwando is definitely a firm favourite amongst a high proportion of our staff and guests.SeasonsAccommodationTrips
