Okavango Vumbura Plains Concession
, also known as NG22, is a private safari area located to the north of the Okavango Delta
in northern Botswana
The concession covers around 500 square kilometres and is restricted to around 40 guests in two small camps, around 13 square kilometres per person, which represents an relatively low density.
It is a widely held belief that this area provides the best wildlife viewing in the region. Certainly the unusually wide range of habitats here provides for an exceptionally broad range of both predator and prey species, with good reliability year round.
It's a truly lovely area, with excellent wildlife and superb camps. A genuine privilege to visit. We have certainly had some wonderful safari experiences here, notably with some lovely cheetah sightings and elephants coming right into camp.
The only significant criticism we have of the area is that the safari activities can be a little bit too gentle for some tastes, with relatively short morning and afternoon activities being punctuated by long lunches and siestas back in camp, although we have found that the guides generally respond positively to requests for longer safaris.SeasonsAccommodationTrips
