Ol Malo Lodge
is located in the Laikipia North area of north-central Kenya.

Laikipia North is an elevated plateau of arid range-lands which are renowned for their healthy climate. The area is home to a broad range of wildlife, including some of less familiar species which are characteristic of the area, notably including imperial zebras, gerenuks, reticulated giraffes and Somali ostriches. Visitor densities are very low.

Ol Malo Lodge is set amidst very attractive landscapes on a 20 square kilometre private ranch on the west bank of the Ewaso Ngiro River, this high quality operation is personally hosted by owners Will and Chyulu Francombe. It is perched on an escarpment, with very comfortable public areas, a nice pool and just four beautifully crafted guest rooms.

Activities include vehicle safari, horse-back safari, camel safari, walking safari, waterhole hides, mountain biking and some of the best and most natural Samburu cultural interaction we have ever experienced. It is also possible to charter a helicopter or light aircraft in order to explore the remote north, or even trek with camels for as far as you want.

The main potential downsides are the fact that the greater area is largely reclaimed farmland, there is a significant amount of human habitation around, the wildlife densities are relatively low and off-road driving is not permitted.
