Ol Tukai Lodge
is located in the Amboseli
area of Southeast Kenya
Amboseli is an iconic safari area, there are few better known landscapes than the classic image of elephants and giraffes crossing vast open plains against a backdrop of the snows of Mount Kilimanjaro
Situated in the heart of the main reserve, this huge facility, with its massive public areas and 80 guest rooms is pretty well presented for a lodge of its type, although a surprise to find that it was built as recently as 1996. A real highlight is the fact that you really can sit in camp and watch the animals go by.
The main potential downsides are the very large size and old-fashioned design of the lodge, the adverse effect its presence represents here in the core wildlife area, the very vehicle high traffic that can be experienced inside the main reserve during the Jul/Oct dry season and the much lower wildlife densities during the Nov/May green season.Seasons
