is located in the Nairobi
area of central Kenya
Situated in the upmarket suburb of Langatta to the southwest of the city, this small upmarket lodge offers premium priced accommodation suitable for inclusion in a high end safari.
The hotel is contained within a timber faced house, with reception and lounge areas filled with contemporary art, leading out to a dining terrace.
Guest accommodation in the Main House is in the Master Bedroom, Bedroom One and Bedroom Two on the first floor and a children's Loft Room. A large building in the grounds, which was previously an artist's studio, contains the two storey Apartment One, Apartment Two and Apartment Three, all of which have sofa beds downstairs for up to two children, plus the smaller Studio One and Studio Two on the first floor above a shared lounge area.
Activities include modest vehicle safaris into the national park, plus visits to the world famous Sheldrick Baby Elephant Orphanage and the Langatta Giraffe Sanctuary, as described below.
The main potential downsides are that OneFortyEight is relatively expensive. There are plenty of lower cost options for stopovers in Nairobi, although not many which offer this kind of elevated and peaceful experience. The adjacent Nairobi National Park is interesting enough, but naturally it is encroached upon by modern development. It is worth noting that the hotel is not particularly convenient for the city centre, should you have the need for repeated visits there.ActivitiesSeasonsPricesTrips
