Pafuri Walking Trails
is located in the Kruger North
area of Kruger National Park
in the Northeast
region of South Africa
Situated in riverine woodland on a large 240 square kilometre private concession bounded by the Levuvhu and Limpopo rivers in the extreme northeast of the Kruger, this seasonal bush camp is open from Apr/Oct.
Walking will, as usual, mainly concentrate on the nuances of flora, fauna and tracking, but may include some approaches to dangerous animals including elephants, buffaloes and lions.
Morning and afternoon walks usually last for 3-4 hours and go at a leisurely pace, with a long break for a proper lunch and a siesta, followed by another walk and a night vehicle safari.
The main potential downsides are the difficulty and cost of access, the fact the the wildlife is not usually as intense as further south in Kruger and the potential for adverse weather conditions Nov/Mar. Also, as with almost all the lodges in this area, different groups of guests are joined together on safari activities, unless you pre-book a private vehicle at significant additional cost.SeasonsPrices
