Panorama North

... is located in the Northeast of South Africa.

This area sweeps up a number of disparate areas ranged above and below the Mpumulanga Drakensburg Escarpment to the west of Kruger.

Letaba ... is a quiet and beautiful mountain country of which lies above the escarpment to the north, an interesting option for a relaxing stopover either side of a longer self-drive safari.

Blyde Canyon Lower ... is an area of outstanding natural beauty which lies at the base of the escarpment and offers activities including hiking and ballooning. It is a natural stopping-off place for self-drivers heading for safari into the central part of Kruger National Park.

Hoedspruit ... is a rather modest town which lies on the Lowveld, surrounded by private wildlife reserves. Many of our guests pass through the domestic airport when heading out on safari in the immediate area.

Phalaborwa ... is another even less interesting town which lies a little further north on the Lowveld and is famous for its large open-cast mines. There are accommodation options here, but they are of very peripheral interest to the majority of our guests.

The wildlife areas in and around these two towns are covered in the Kruger Private Reserves section.
