is located in the Kruger North
area of Kruger National Park
in the Northeast
region of South Africa
Set on an escarpment with stunning views south over the park, Pels Post is a small intimate lodge with elegant modern public areas and a very nice swimming pool area. Guest accommodation is in four large and innovative suites with electric shutters that can be left open or closed at night. There is definitely a heightened sense of wilderness this far north. Service levels are high and prices are extremely keen.
Activities are centred on vehicle safari, walking safari, dramatic mountain hiking, visits to stone age sites and to contemporary Makuleke villages.
The main potential downsides are the difficulty and cost of access, the fact the the wildlife is not usually as intense as further south in Kruger, vehicle safaris usually have to transit along a main public road for a stretch and the potential for adverse weather conditions Nov/Mar. Also, as with almost all the lodges in this area, different groups of guests are joined together on safari activities, unless you pre-book a private vehicle at significant additional cost.SeasonsTrips
